Platinum - Over $20000

Manitoba Transportation and Government Services graciously donated $35,000 to the r3 Solar Car Team effort.  These funds will be used to assist in the purchase of the high-efficiency electric motor and solar array, and includes a gas-electric hybrid Team Caravan for the duration of the competition and its fuel costs.  This maintains the energy-efficient theme of the event.  The team will do its very best to prove itself worthy amongst the international competition and to represent Manitoba and its local industry well.

Boeing's contribution to the effort includes completing the tooling and fabrication of the carbon-fiber body.  The r3 Solar Car Team is blessed to have such local expertise with composites manufacturing, this being the same team in contention to design and produce the Boeing 777 wing-to-body fairing.  The r3 Solar Car Team is assured they will surprise many with one of the best bodies, if not the very best, at the rayces.

We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through Western Economic Diversification Canada.

Thanks goes to Dan Eberly and the University of Missouri-Rolla Solar Car team who've helped our r3 Solar Car Team effort by selling us their old car and offering priceless information.  This car was the basis for the 2003 NASC champion-car and we hope to draw on that success.  The same team also won again in 2004, and this multiple-championship team's Technical Advisor, Doug Carroll, also literally wrote the book on Solar Car Design; "The Winning Solar Car -- A Design Guide for Solar Race Car Teams" ISBN 0-7680-1131-0, printed by SAE.

Bronze - $1000 -  $4999
